that was some time ago, and things changed.

iran now has multiple dark fiber connections to the outside world, and as
i understand it, quite modern infrastructure.

sadly, the government has a stranglehold on things, which is pretty much
the standard for the middle east (saudi, UAE, etc, etc), so, they can block
and intercept pretty much everything.
