I walked past our usual post-meeting restaurant (the Swiss Chalet on
Yonge St. south of Gerrard), and discovered a poster on the door:

========================================================================

			years of dining with us.

					       Please take a

					     poster to redeem

					    of the 3 locations

According to

    https://www.blogto.com/eat_drink/2020/11/toronto-most-popular-swiss-chalet-location-closed/

the location closed on October 26.

Good luck getting the free spring rolls now, though, given that Toronto
will be in a COVID-19 lockdown prohibiting dine-in restaurants until
December 18 at the earliest.

In any case, if and when UU ever starts meeting in person at Ryerson
again, we'll need to find a new post-meeting venue.

I'd recommend Thai on Yonge (a few steps north of the closed Swiss
Chalet), especially for those nostalgic for UU's Real Thailand days--I
believe Thai on Yonge closes at 11pm, which should be adequate for us.
The Boston Pizza at Yonge and Gerrard might also be suitable. Or we
could engage in the time-honoured UU tradition of waiting to see if
another restaurant opens up at the address of the previous venue.

(And apparently the Pickle Barrel in the Atrium on Bay, also owned by
Cara Foods, also closed permanently on October 26.)

Regards,
